In May, Pam Bondi reportedly informed President Donald Trump that his name appeared in what she previously called a "truckload" of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, according to a new Wall Street Journal report released on Wednesday.

Per the report, Bondi and her deputy brought the news to Trump during a routine White House briefing, telling him his name was among hundreds of high-profile figures listed in the files. Officials described the contents as "unverified hearsay," and it remains unclear exactly what information was tied to Trump.

The revelation comes as Trump continues efforts to distance himself from Epstein, following a recent Justice Department memo stating that there was no Epstein "client list," no basis to investigate uncharged third parties, and no grounds to release additional materials.

That memo, notably, contradicted Bondi’s own earlier claim in February that Epstein's client list was "sitting on my desk right now to review."

This latest WSJ report also follows a separate article from the outlet last week detailing a lewd birthday letter Trump allegedly sent to Epstein. Trump dismissed the report as fake and is suing the publication.

In the wake of these revelations — especially the WSJ's report on Trump's name purportedly appearing in the files — people had plenty to say:

    1. "Of course it is. We all assumed that. He may not be guilty of a crime, but the information would definitely hurt him. That's why he's so desperate for them not to be released."

    2. "Kudos to the WSJ for not cowering to the lawsuit threat. If they are publishing this when a multi-billion-dollar demand against them is in place, it means they are pretty confident about their information, and the proof is in the pudding."

Comment praising WSJ for not backing down from a lawsuit threat, implying confidence in their published information

    3. "Let's be clear. There are folks implicated in this crime spree on both sides of the political spectrum. Release it all and let the chips fall where they may."

Comment by Indy Vet: "Let’s be clear. There are folks implicated in this crime spree on both sides of the political spectrum. Release it all and let the chips fall."

    4. "I would say I’m shocked and surprised but as we all know that would be disingenuous. It would be like saying I’m shocked and surprised that noon came at 12 PM today."

    6. "Seems pretty simple ... redact the victims' names and the child porn, then release the documents. Let the chips fall where they may. The right wing media is the one who've been making hay over this, time to lay in the bed they made even if their cult leader is a part of the story."

Comment discussing releasing redacted documents related to a controversial figure and addressing right-wing media involvement

    7. "House Republicans will shut the whole place down to avoid releasing the Epstein files. But just this month they stayed up all night to steal your healthcare and give billionaires giant tax breaks. Priorities."

Comment criticizing House Republicans for prioritizing avoiding Epstein files release over healthcare and tax decisions

    8. "Is anyone else getting whiplash? 'The files are on my desk.' 'There are no files.' 'The files are a democrat plant to distract you.' and now... 'Trump is in the files.'"

User comment joking about deflecting a story by issuing an arrest warrant

    12. "While trump and what's in the files are getting the most noise, the real issue is the attorney general of the United States has [flip-flopped] on more than one occasion over this. Imagine what the reaction from the right would be if this was a dem administration. and, so far, Rupert [Murdoch] doesn't seem too bothered by trump's threats."

Social media comment discussing the attorney general's actions related to Trump, contrasting potential reactions if roles were reversed politically

    13. "if the roles were reversed, the outrage would be in all caps and 24/7, but silence always speaks volumes when it’s politically convenient."

Comment criticizing the current administration, mentioning possible resignation of AG and dissatisfaction with Trump and GOP leadership

    And finally,

    15. "Its a very old story...FILTHY RICH & POLITICALLY POWERFUL MEN thinking they can do anything they want without repercussions. Unfortunately, it's usually true. No one should be shocked that trump & probably many of his billionaire 'buddies' were friends with and partied with Epstein. The question is, who, if any of these men, crossed the line into illegality. Trump certainly knew that Epstein liked very young girls. What else did he know? Trump & his MAGA cohorts have been very aggressive about pointing the Epstein finger at their Democratic rivals, much to the delight of the MAGA base. He's not so happy now that the Epstein finger is being pointed directly at him. His MAGA base isn't happy either. WILL THE TRUTH EVER BE REVEALED?"

User comment about powerful men avoiding repercussions, referencing Trump, Epstein, and Epstein's associates, questioning if they acted illegally
