Mild spoilers for Dune and Dune: Part Three ahead.
It goes without saying that Jason Momoa has some of the best hair in Hollywood. But this week, the actor shared a video of himself shaving off his beard for the first time in six years!

Ahead of filming Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, Jason — who last shaved when shooting the original Dune movie, in which he played Duncan Idaho — got rid of his facial hair as he got back into character.

Duncan dies at the end of Dune, but in the novel Dune Messiah — which the third film is based on — he is brought back to life using cloning technology.
“Only for you, Denis,” he said in the video, while promoting his sustainable water company Mananalu.

Jason later admitted that he reallyyy wasn’t a fan of the clean-shaven look. “Goddamnit, I hate it!” he said.

Yeah, it's safe to say that he looks pretty different!

Reacting to Jason’s new look, fans online were split. Some people admitted that they preferred the beard, with one person writing, “Now that's gonna take some getting used to… I hope you grow it back soon. Makes you look more rugged lol.”

Someone else commented, “You look handsome either way, I am a huge fan of the beard however!”
“I’m really not into beards but sometimes a man shaves it and even I am like ‘… oh. Hmmm. Yeah let's go ahead and put that back on I think,’” one Reddit user said, while one more person quipped, “He looks like an assistant high school football coach now.”
Loads of people also noted that they felt Jason — who is 45 — looked way younger without his beard.
