But there's one thing that Trump keeps on bringing up, and that thing is windmills.
He HATES them.
It was one of the first things he said on arrival:
Trump in Scotland: I say two things to Europe. Stop the windmills. I really mean it. It's so sad. You fly over and you see these windmills all over the place, ruining your beautiful fields and valleys and killing your birdsπ€‘ pic.twitter.com/aV1igGjTTQ

"Stop the windmills. You're ruining your countries. I really mean it. It's so sad," he said. "You fly over and you see these windmills all over the place, ruining your beautiful fields and valleys and killing your birds. If they're stuck in the ocean, ruining your oceans."
It came up in his meeting withΒ EU President Ursula von der Leyen:
Trump: "The other thing I say to Europe: We will not allow a windmill to be built in the United States. They are killing us." pic.twitter.com/QL9vZHnL0F
"And the other thing I say to Europe: We will not allow a windmill to be built in the United States," he said. "They're killing us. They're killing the beauty of our scenery, our valleys, our beautiful plains. Iβm not talking about airplanes, I'm talking about beautiful PLAINS. Beautiful areas in the United States, and you look up and you see windmills all over the place. It's a horrible thing."
Meanwhile the EU president was like "..."
It came up yet again when he met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer:
Trump: "Wind is a disaster. It destroys the beauty of your fields, your plains, you waterways, and look out there -- there's no windmills. But if you look in another direction you see windmills." pic.twitter.com/hdY8M3jlca
"When we go to Aberdeen, you'll see some of the ugliest windmills you've ever seen," he said. "They're the height of a 50-story building. And you can take 1,000 times more energy out of a hole in the ground this big. It's called oil and gas. You have it there in the North Sea."
